Je (ne) t’oublierai (pas), 2021 -

Inkjet print on archive paper, 24 x 32 in.

An old love letter (2013), addressed to the artist, was scanned and reproduced on his back. The words were marked with an inkless tattoo technique, leaving only lesions on the skin. This image, captured immediately after the act of transcription, is the genesis of an ongoing photographic series documenting the healing and complete disappearance of the love wound.

Doucement les corps brings together a series of bruised and minimalist poems as the remaining emanations of nocturnal encounters and amorous fissures. A writing where words disappear to leave only their materiality and the tangibility of sensations. This collection explores the spaces between words, in what is not said. Like a song composed of silences.” (Unofficial translation)
Drugstore Memories, 2019

Exhibition
BOXPARK, Montreal, QC
May 3, 2019

Drugstore Memories presents a series of works made during summer 2018 spent in Western Canada in the municipality of Prince George, BC. The exhibition shows enlargements of documents (contact sheets, notes) produced by the pharmacy where the artist had his photos developed there.

This attempt seeks to reflect the tensions — phenomenological and conceptual — between the finite and the unfinished, high and low resolution, the precious and the mundane, the relevant and the impertinent, the intentional and the error. How, by a change of scale, function or context, can a reference tool become emotional?
Ma première photo, 2018 -

Chromogenic print, photographic fixer, glass, silicone, 3 x 4 x 1.5 in.

The artist’s first photographic portrait is sealed in a glass box filled with photographic fixer. Over time, the image, subjected to the liquid, will be completely erased. This work is the first in a series aiming the erasure of all the images, from the artist’s archive, representing him. Throughout his life, he will pursue this irreversible act as a process of memory testing and unbecoming.

The entire digital visual archive accumulated on the artist’s computer was ordered according to the date each document was saved, classified into three volumes by file types (jpeg, png, tiff), then printed in 20 volumes. Just over 30,000 images make up this personal archive.
